Trade Stall
JOLENE JONES
'the shop van'
At Coonamble Rodeo and Campdraft this year, we debut our new set up for trade stalls. Our 1973 rebuilt (still in progress) Viscount Ambassador Caravan.
We have repurposed our van to display our stock and are in love with how this has turned out.
We will be taking bookings for future events down the track, but first suspension, draw bar upgrade and interior fit out!
Huge thanks to my husband Jake, Kye, Clint from Outwest Auto Electrical and Robbie from Renewing Old Bark for helping me put the ideas that were keeping me up at night into reality.

Some progress photos below!
At first we purchased a cute little travel home deluxe from Lightning Ridge. As you can see she didn’t survive the trip home and proved to be too much work for us.
I found this little beauty on Facebook marketplace in Gilgandra and talked Jake into taking me to pick it up - this one has an aluminium frame, we towed it home and it didn’t fall apart, winning!
Another bonus was that the previous owners had already mostly gutted the van and there wasn’t too much demolition needed.
The old floor was removed, I removed the surface rust from the chassis, primed it and gave it a coat of raptor undercarriage paint for protection.
Robbie popped a new floor, cut out the display side of the caravan and fixed the first lot of slatwall. Installed a new wider door and cut some shelving.
From the Jake built a net of doors, patched gaps and completed the list of 50,000 things I wanted to get done asap!
With the modifications done I was able to prime and paint her! The difference with paint job and a new set of wheels makes!
The inside of the caravan will be used as storage so we filled in the back and front windows with aluminium composite panels cut to size by Bridgewater signs in Dubbo.
I fit acrylic windows into the frames - kits were purchased from Rovotek, cut to size and includes the rubber seal.
She still needs a hell of a lot of love but has had some serious blood, sweat and tears getting her this far.
